Sacred Heart Church is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church. The parish has been in existence for 50 years.
The church buildings are located on the corner of Alwyn Road and Lime Tree Avenue, Bilton. The village of Bilton is a suburb of Rugby, a town in Warwickshire in the Midlands region of England. The church is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham Archdiocese of Birmingham.
The original church was built in 1959. In 1993 the reordering of the whole church was completed with an immersion font, a new Blessed Sacrament Chapel, a quiet room, a youth room and a library. There was also a new narthex giving direct access to the hall extended in 1991. The church was dedicated by the Archbishop in April 1998. In 2009, the parish celebrated its 50th anniversary with a series of special events.
Mass is celebrated daily in the church and there are two Sunday masses - one anticipated on Saturday evening at 6pm, and one on Sunday morning at 9.30am. The parish has an active ministry to children and young people - with groups for under fours, under sevens, seven and upwards, and an occasional youth-led praise service. Coffee and tea are available in the parish hall after each of the weekend masses. About 300 people attend the church each week.
The parish priest is Father Ted Mullen, IC, a member of the Rosminians.
